HOW CAN YOU BE SURE IT WILL BE JUST LIKE THE PICTURES & DESCRIPTION?

Because eBay has national coverage our ‘average’ customer lives more than 250 miles away and we are often contacted by people who have been previously disappointed by a vehicle that simply did not live up to its vendor’s description and are now reluctant to believe ours; especially when our vehicles are all so exceptional.

It is unfortunate that some car adverts even at the very hi end of the market can sometimes be ‘economical’ with negative details in relation to aspects of condition or history and that against this backdrop it is very hard for us to convince people that our pictures are real and descriptions factual. From our perspective this is a very frustrating situation because there is nothing that we can ‘say’ that could totally allay these fears, however, when assessing the verity of our listings please consider the following;

·        The breadth and detail of what we show

Ø     Our listings typically contain around 120 high resolution, well lit pictures and 3,500 words of description that cover every aspect of the vehicle (if there are any omissions please let us know as we are constantly trying to improve this aspect of what we do).

Ø     Within each advert we do not just list the details of mechanical and electrical components but go on to explicitly state whether they work or not.

Ø     We publish all the relevant details of ownership and service documentation including HPI clearance certificates.

Ø     We also tabulate servicing and MOT details in date order with cross reference to recorded mileages so that it would quickly be apparent if anything was missing or in some way not as it should be.

Ø     Lastly if there are any faults with a particular vehicle they are listed in a stand alone ‘Points Of Note’ section with supporting close up pictures and/or detailed description where applicable.

·        We would have nothing to gain – Because our listings make explicit claims regarding condition etc… they leave no room for ambiguity or interpretation. Therefore if any vehicle did not accurately reflect the pictures or description its buyer would quite understandably feel deceived and would simply not complete the transaction which would leave us with, no sale, an angry individual, bad feedback, and given that we offer a full reimbursement of travel costs should anybody feel that an item has been falsely described, a bill for their travel and expenses. In short it would not form the basis of a sustainable business.

·        False description is illegal – As a professional company we are bound by (and take very seriously) the Trade Descriptions Act which amongst other things stipulates that all goods offered for sale must be ‘correctly described’. The implications of this act are that if we publish any pictures or details of description appertaining to an actual item being sold (which is what we do) then they must be an accurate representation of that item, otherwise we are breaking the law; thus laying our selves open to fines that are far greater than any gain we could have achieved from the sale of any one vehicle.

·        Repeat Business – over 70% of our sales come from repeat business and direct customer recommendation without which we would not  be able to stay in business; therefore if we did not provide people with a service they were happy with this would very quickly decline and our business would simply fail.

·        eBay Feedback We have 100% customer feedback which gives our new customers reassurance and we want to keep it that way.
